Columbia Staff Spotlight - Mrs. Lemak
This week's spotlight is on Angela Lemak. Mrs. Lemak is one of our amazing ESOL teachers!
We love having Mrs. Lemak with us at Columbia! Let's learn more about her...
Years at Columbia ES: 6 years
Years in Education: 10 years
Why do you love working at Columbia? I love working at Columbia because the Columbia Community is SO friendly! When I began my career here 10 years ago- I immediately felt very welcome by staff, students, and families. Many of the current and former teachers from Columbia are still some of my closest friends to this day. I spent a few years working at a different school, but I never forgot the Columbia community-so much so that my husband and I bought our house in the Columbia neighborhood! Now, I love when students and I realize we are neighbors! I also love when I realize one of my current students is related to a former student- and that happens a lot! It feels like we are all one big family at Columbia, and I am so happy to work here again!
What is your favorite thing about teaching? My favorite thing about teaching is seeing how quickly my students can learn new things! I also love being an elementary teacher because I like to be silly from time to time- just like elementary schoolers!
Favorite place to visit: I went to Hawaii this past summer and I cannot wait to visit it again! It was such a magical place, it made me appreciate our beautiful planet so much more!
Hobbies/Interests: I love reading, hiking, practicing yoga, creating art, cooking, spending time with my family and friends and watching Eagles Football every Sunday!
Fun fact! I can wiggle my ears!
