This week's spotlight is on Marcia Barner. Ms. Barner is one of our amazing preschool autism class instructional assistants!

Years at Columbia ES: 12 years

Years in Education: 22 years

Why do you love working at Columbia? : I enjoy being with the children, and teachers. I am able to see how these children are able to grow and learn, even during play time they give me joy. In a nutshell, it is my motherly instinct in nurturing them. I feel the  love, as if they are my grandchildren.

What is your favorite thing about teaching? I love watching the moments of growth and connections in the students, you can actually see them every day.  How lucky are we!

Favorite place to visit: I love Tennessee, Austria, and Singapore, any beach areas and interesting buildings or sightseeing places.

Hobbies/Interests: Word find Puzzles, reading, going on walks and hikes. 

Fun fact! I was able to visit Zurich in Switzerland and I LOVE to bake.
