Why do you love working at Columbia? I love the community, my students, and my colleagues.

What is your favorite thing about teaching? Reading. I love teaching kids how to read Spanish. I get emotional when they can pronounce the j, h, ll, ñ, etc.; these are phonemes that make different sounds in English and Spanish.

What is your favorite childhood memory? My mom celebrating my birthday for 3 days.

Favorite place to visit: It would have to be a tie between Istanbul, Budapest, and Mexico City.

Hobbies/Interests: Learning languages, comparing languages, listening to podcasts and nature walks.

Fun fact! I have 8 siblings and I live two blocks away from my father's place.
