Kindergarten Explores the Wonders of Nature at Hidden Oaks!
Our kindergarten students embarked on an exciting adventure to Hidden Oaks Nature Center! This immersive field trip provided a fantastic opportunity for our youngest learners to connect with the natural world and discover the wonders of our local environment.
Students learned about the amazing adaptations of squirrels through a puppet show, songs, and demonstrations. They explored the forest habitat and searched for signs of squirrels, like dreys (squirrel nests). Students discovered how squirrels play a vital role in the ecosystem and compared and contrasted different types of squirrels, like the gray squirrel and the flying squirrel.
This hands-on experience brought learning to life for our kindergarten students. They were able to connect what they learned in the classroom with the real world, fostering a deeper appreciation for nature and the environment.
