Student Council Association
At Columbia, the Student Council Association (SCA) works together to build community, school culture, and team spirit throughout the building. Each year, the SCA identifies a theme to streamline initiatives and service projects to work towards.
Columbia's SCA is made up of four officers and representatives from all classrooms in Kindergarten through 5th grade, along with Columbia staff sponsors. The president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer are elected each fall by their peers. Our SCA leaders strive to be strong leaders who represent their school with pride.
All SCA members meet once a month to plan school spirit activities for students and staff as well as school-wide initiatives. SCA Representatives are responsible for sharing information from the meeting with their classmates and promoting the activities.
Past initiatives include
- 2018-2019 - Donating meals to homeless shelters and cleaning up Columbia’s campus
- 2019-2020 - Supporting hospital workers with cards and care packages for first responders.
- 2020-2021 - Supporting hospital workers with cards and care packages for first responders.
- 2021-2022 - Building care packages for senior centers and increasing environmental “green” practices around our Columbia campus.
