I hope that you have a wonderful three-day weekend. As a reminder, the PTA sponsored Columbia ES Fall Picnic will be held next Friday, September 29th from 6- 8pm. Hope to see you all there!

Fall Picnic
Please join us next Friday, September 29th from 6-8 PM for a school wide picnic. Pack a picnic and join us behind the school for some fun and fellowship. Please consider helping us with the event by either volunteering your time HERE donating items HERE. We are looking forward to seeing our new community partner Patient First as well as Cub Scouts from troop 150 who will be selling popcorn. Please stop by their tables for more information.

Car Magnets
There are still car magnets available on the PTA store. A single magnet is $7 or two magnets for $10. Get them while they last!
Membership
If you haven’t become a member of the PTA yet, there is still time! Annual PTA membership dues are $10, and you can sign up HERE. Special hint: All those who sign up at the picnic next Friday will be entered into a drawing for a gift card. We hope you will consider joining us!
Financial Review Committee Volunteer Opportunity
The PTA is still looking for one more member to be on the “financial review committee”. This commitment asks for approximately 15-30 minutes of your time each month to review the Treasurer’s bank reconciliation and statements. Please email [email protected] if you would like to volunteer.

National Hispanic Heritage Month
From September 15 to October 15, FCPS recognizes and celebrates the histories and cultures of the members of our community who trace their heritage to Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. Please join us... Donuts with Grown-ups!“Donuts with Grown-ups” provides an opportunity for families to join their student at school one morning for donuts, coffee (well, for the adults), and conversation, before everyone heads off to start their day.
- Thursday, October 5th (families with last names A-L) - 8:30-9:00 a.m
- Friday, October 6th (families with last names M-Z) - 8:30-9:00 a.m.
Please RSVP by emailing me, returning the RSVP form in the flyer that went home last week, or calling the school office.

Advanced Academics Level IV Services Meeting October 2, 2023 at 6pm
All are welcome to attend! We will be reviewing the process for families to submit a referral for, and general information about, the full-time level 4 advanced academics program.
he information to be shared on October 2nd is most important for families of Columbia students in grades 2-5 who are interested in the steps to take for the level 4 advanced academic referral process.
This advanced academics informational meeting will be held on Monday October 2, 2023 at 6:00 pm in the Columbia ES School library. Parents may join in person or on Zoom. The Zoom link is:
