Mrs. McKenna joined the Columbia family in 2016 as their art teacher. Prior to coming to Columbia she taught elementary art at multiple FCPS schools such as Parklawn, Garfield, Saratoga, Glen Forest, and Lane ES. She graduated from Mary Washington College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Fine Arts and received her Masters of Art Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. Mrs. McKenna earned her National Board Certification in Art (Middle/Early Childhood) in 2018. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two children and tries to find time to create her own art, especially ceramics, printmaking and painting.
